The Force 8 reels should prove popular with shore and boat anglers. The Force 8 reels should prove popular with shore and boat anglers.

TF Gear has launched an exciting new range of sea tackle. Roger Mortimore gets a sneak preview of the latest kit!

The Force 8 range comprises six reels – three in the 65 size and three in the larger 75 size. The 65 sizes have a capacity of 300 yards of 15lb mono with a gear ratio of 5.3:1 and run smoothly on three stainless-steel ball bearings plus one anti-reverse bearing.

The CS model has a levelwind and centrifugal braking. The CSM is similar to the CS as it has the levelwind but also features magnetic braking. The 65CTM is the top of the range and has both centrifugal and magnetic braking. Its open frame allows you to get a good grip on the spool and wind up some really big casts.

The 75 series has a larger capacity of 320 yards of 20lb mono but has a more powerful gear ratio of 4.3:1 and also runs on three stainless-steel ball bearings and one anti-reverse bearing. The 75CS has a levelwind plus centrifugal braking while the 75CT has centrifugal brakes and an open frame for better grip when casting. The 75CTM has an open frame plus centrifugal and magnetic braking.
