Ultima is also supporting four individual anglers who are regular <em>TSF</em> contributors: Steve Allmark, Terry Thomas, Steve Gregory and Wayne McKeown.</p> Ireland Take ‘Home’ Gold www.totalseamagazine.com/News/article_181/ Thu, 08 Jul 2010 12:00:00 +0100 <p><strong>The Irish team of Shane Gilvarry, Liam Longmore, Liam O&rsquo;Callaghan, Josie Barrett and Henry Ross, managed by Pat Walsh, completed a memorable victory in this year&rsquo;s Home Nations Boat Championships, held in Belmullet, Co Mayo, recently.</strong></p><p>Despite the absence of previous winners Scotland, it was a great success with more than 20 species of fish recorded from the rich waters off the Irish coastline. This was Ireland&rsquo;s first win for many years and highlights the slender difference that now exists between the home nations at this level. The final result was: Ireland 888, England 875 and Wales 813. He built his business into an angler&rsquo;s paradise with a huge stock for such a small shop, and if you couldn&rsquo;t find what you wanted he would get it in for you. Rob lived for all forms of fishing and was very conservation minded. Rob will be missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves a wife and two children.</p> Ocean Kayak Raises £500 For RNLI www.totalseamagazine.com/News/article_183/ Thu, 08 Jul 2010 12:00:00 +0100 <p><strong>The first Ocean Kayak Classic Fishing Tournament, held at Swanage on June 5th, raised &pound;500 for the local RNLI lifeboat station. </strong></p><p>Perfect weather conditions made for a great day as 43 competitors took to the water and a total of 17 different fish species were caught in a catch-and-release competition. Both John Elsdon and Amos Mack, the joint winners, caught six different species, and they each went away with a fantastic prize of a complete Ocean Kayak Prowler Ultra 4.7 fishing kayak worth &pound;999.</p><p>David Lear took second place and won a colour GPS Humminbird fishfinder. David Harrison was third and received an Escape buoyancy aid. Martin Steeden, who received the donation on behalf of the RNLI, said: &ldquo;I have my own boat here and the most species I have ever caught in one outing is four &ndash; so hats off to all the anglers who have done so well here at Swanage.&rdquo; The species caught on the day included pollack, ballan wrasse, dogfish, mackerel, undulate rays, corkwing wrasse, pouting, black bream, bass, plaice, common and starry smoothhounds, greater sandeels, goldsinny wrasse, smelt, butterfish and small-eyed rays.</p><p>The event was sponsored by Johnson Outdoors UK and supported by AnglersAfloat.</p> Win Some TKR Tackle! www.totalseamagazine.com/News/article_176/ Mon, 14 Jun 2010 12:00:00 +0100 <p><strong>TKR is giving away a personalised extendable fish-measuring ruler or a 22mm bait pump for the angler who catches the largest plaice this month.
