The British Open Beach Championship 2008

The TSF team played a part in this year’s British Open Beach Championship on the Holderness coast, where more than 1,100 anglers had their eyes on the big money prizes! Editor Barney Wright reports back on the team’s opening salvo…

The British Open Beach Championship is the biggest two-day beach fishing match in the UK, and takes place each year along Yorkshire’s east coast, with the headquarters based in Bridlington at Makis Holiday Resort, and this year certainly proved to be a terrific success!

Every year more than 1,000 anglers attend the event, making it a mammoth task to organise and run for Paul Roggeman and his excellent team from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The prize table is truly immense and there can be no doubt that each and every competitior has his/her eyes on a possible cash prize of £6,000.
